Trauma therapy intensives offer extended, personalized time to focus on a specific experience or healing goal. Instead of fitting meaningful work into a 50-minute appointment, you and your therapist can slow down, prepare carefully, process at your pace, and leave with a plan for continued support.
Starting at $900; payment plans may be available.
A trauma therapy intensive is an extended therapeutic experience that allows you to focus on a specific concern for several hours or across multiple days. The intensive format may decrease treatment time because of time not spent on:
TPCWS trauma intensives are culturally responsive, affirming, and rooted in a social justice framework. Your care considers not only what happened to you, but also how identity, culture, relationships, community, discrimination, and systemic experiences may shape trauma and healing. We provide LGBTQIA+, kink, polyamory, sex-positive, and neurodivergent-affirming care without judgment.
Three hours of focused treatment
The mini-intensive includes consultation, assessment, preparation, three hours of client-centered trauma treatment, and a follow-up appointment.
This option may be appropriate for someone who wants to focus on a specific experience, concern, belief, emotion, image, or body sensation.
The full-day intensive provides additional time for preparation, resourcing, trauma processing, breaks, reflection, and integration.
This option may be appropriate for someone who wants extended time to explore a specific concern or interconnected experiences.
The two-day intensive creates space for more extensive therapeutic work while allowing time for rest and integration between sessions.
This option may be appropriate for someone whose treatment goals require more time than a single-day intensive can provide.
Your needs may not fit neatly into a standard package. Work with your therapist to design a personalized trauma intensive around your treatment goals, processing needs, availability, and desired pace.
TPCWS offers in-person trauma therapy intensives in New Orleans and virtual intensives in the states where participating clinicians are licensed.
Virtual availability, clinical approaches, scheduling, and eligibility may vary by therapist.
No. New and existing clients may request a trauma intensive. All prospective clients must complete a consultation and assessment before scheduling.
No specific result can be guaranteed. Trauma healing is personal, and each person responds differently. An intensive provides focused time for therapeutic work, but some clients may benefit from continued individual therapy or additional support afterward.
In many cases, yes. With your written permission, your intensive therapist may coordinate with your existing therapist to support continuity of care.
Trauma therapy intensives are generally not covered by insurance. Payment plans may be discussed when available. The intensive must be paid in full before the scheduled treatment date.
An intensive may not be appropriate when someone needs a higher level of care, immediate crisis support, or additional stabilization before trauma processing. Every prospective client completes a consultation and assessment first.
You do not have to decide alone. During your consultation, we will discuss your goals, current support, readiness, and scheduling needs to determine which option may be appropriate.
Healing does not end when the intensive ends. Your follow-up session provides space to discuss what you noticed, support integration, and identify next steps. Recommendations may include continued individual therapy, coordination with your current therapist, additional resourcing, or another intensive when appropriate.
You deserve care tailored to your life and not limited to a standard appointment length.
Complete the consultation form to explore whether a trauma therapy intensive is the right fit for you.
