At Turning Point Counseling & Wellness Services, we provide affirming, culturally responsive couples and relationship therapy for people who want to communicate more effectively, repair emotional wounds, deepen intimacy, or determine what comes next.
When the same conflicts keep happening, trust has been damaged, or communication no longer feels productive, couples and relationship therapy can help you understand what is happening beneath the surface. You do not have to wait until your relationship is in crisis to seek support.
Online couples and relationship therapy offers a flexible way to receive support from a private location that works for everyone involved. Telehealth may be especially helpful for partners balancing work, caregiving, transportation, or different schedules.
Services are available to eligible clients located in states where their therapist is licensed. Availability may vary by clinician.
Relationship therapy may be helpful if you are:
You do not need to know exactly what is wrong or who is “at fault.” Therapy provides space to slow down, recognize patterns, and understand what each person needs to feel more secure and connected.
Your relationship does not exist in isolation. Culture, family expectations, identity, past experiences, trauma, finances, work, caregiving responsibilities, and social pressures can all influence how people connect and respond to conflict.
Our approach is trauma-informed, culturally responsive, LGBTQIA+-affirming, and kink-affirming. We welcome clients across a variety of identities and relationship structures, including:
We will not assume that every relationship should look the same. Together, we focus on whether the relationship is consensual, respectful, emotionally safe, and aligned with the needs and values of the people involved.
Therapy is not about choosing sides or deciding who is right. It is about understanding the patterns that keep the relationship stuck.
Your therapist will help you:
We draw from trauma-informed and solution-focused practices while tailoring therapy to the identities, goals, strengths, and experiences of each relationship.
It can be difficult to seek relationship counseling when you are concerned that a therapist may judge your identity, sexuality, culture, or relationship structure.

Couples therapy can help partners understand the impact of infidelity, address the factors surrounding the rupture, establish boundaries, and determine whether and how trust can be rebuilt. Therapy cannot guarantee reconciliation, but it can support greater honesty and clarity.
The therapist’s role is not to declare a winner. The therapist works to understand the relationship system, maintain accountability, and help each person communicate and participate more effectively.

Relationship therapy works best when everyone participates willingly. If your partner is not ready, individual therapy may still help you understand your needs, establish boundaries, and make decisions about the relationship.
Traditional couples therapy may not be clinically appropriate when there is ongoing coercion, intimidation, or interpersonal violence. Your therapist will assess safety and may recommend individual support or specialized services before beginning relationship therapy.
